Let me plan that for you...

"We would really love to go there, but the thought of planning a trip exhausts me..."

If this thought, or one similar, has ever passed through your mind, please keep reading!  We were out with friends recently and I jokingly offered to plan an upcoming trip for them as I made fun of myself for enjoying the planning of trips almost as much as actually taking them.  Although I was kidding, they were truly up for it, and the next day I planned a full trip to the Mt. Rushmore area for them, complete with my suggestions for their hotel stays and restaurant choices.  Of course, they are not obliged to take every suggestion, but the framework and much of the legwork is done for them.

My favorite thing to do when planning a vacation is to find personal or family blogs written by real-live people and see what they did with their time on a particular trip.  I write down anything and everything I can find on the location, and then I compile it into an organized schedule with an itinerary for each day.  If you know me, you know that strict adherence to a plan is not a phrase that describes me, so I'm all about veering and shifting and replacing...but the general plan is in place and we have a lot of ideas for ways to spend our days.  I would much rather have too many ideas and leave a place with a desire to come back to see more than not know anything about what to do and spend time just staring at each other, feeling bored and disappointed.

my travel notebook...this is where I
write down everything I can find about
a place before we visit

I'm no travel agent.  You won't find me making your reservations or booking flights for anyone other than Team Wood.  BUT...if you need to know about the local restaurant faves or what to hit up on your road trip, I'm your woman.

So, if you want me to plan a trip for you, hit me up with a comment or a message.  I'll have a few questions for you to answer (nothing hard...time frame, place you're visiting, mode of transportation, family vibe on trips, etc).  The cost is $10 per full day of the trip...you get a travel day on the front end and back end for free, even though I will give you a plan for those days...so a Monday-Friday trip would be 30 bucks.) Below, you will find a sample trip plan**.  So, I guess everyone gets a Mt Rushmore plan (with a side trip to the Field of Dreams field) on the house!  Yay! It's your lucky day!
